For as long as I can remember, my passion for interiors has emerged in the way I cared for my personal spaces and home, no matter where I lived. I always took pride in creating a space that felt like home. I considered going into interior design as a profession, but fear and uncertainty held me back. On some level, I told myself that interior design wasn't important or valuable.

However, time after time, watching renovation shows, I saw how a space that has proper function and serves the needs of its occupants can truly be life-changing. This truth, combined with the fact that beautiful spaces evoke a deep emotion in me, was enough to push past any doubts or fears and pursue what feels right.

Overcoming Doubts and Fear

1. Recognizing the Value of Interior Design

Interior design is not just about making spaces look pretty. It's about creating environments that improve the quality of life for those who live in them. Functional design can lead to increased productivity, better health, and overall happiness.

2. Understanding the Emotional Impact of Beautiful Spaces

Beautiful, well-designed spaces evoke positive emotions. They can inspire creativity, provide comfort, and serve as a sanctuary from the stresses of everyday life.

3. Push Through the Fear

Fear and uncertainty are natural when considering a new path. It's important to acknowledge these feelings but not let them dictate your actions.

Decide to Pursue Your Passion

For anyone struggling to pursue what they know in their gut to be the right move, even amidst contrary thoughts and feelings, here are some suggestions to help you take a step forward:

1. Consider What Life Would Be Like If You Didn't Pursue Your Passion

Reflect on the long-term implications of not following your passion. How would it affect your happiness and sense of fulfillment? Often, the regret of not trying can be more daunting than the fear of failure.

2. What's the Worst That Could Happen If You Did Move Forward?

Assess the potential risks and outcomes. Many times, we exaggerate the negative consequences in our minds. By breaking them down, you might realize they're not as bad as you initially thought.

3. Identify Potential Lessons from Taking Action

Even if you don't succeed in the way you initially envisioned, there are always valuable lessons to be learned. These lessons can guide you toward future success and help you grow both personally and professionally.

Conclusion

Embracing my passion for interior design has been a journey of overcoming fear and uncertainty. By recognizing the value and emotional impact of well-designed spaces, I've found the courage to pursue what feels right. If you're struggling with similar doubts, I encourage you to consider the long-term impact of not following your passion, assess the true risks, and embrace the lessons that come from taking action.

Remember, it's never too late to start. Your journey might inspire someone else who's struggling to find their path!
